Marteau et moteur de boule à facettes / Hammer and mirror ball motor, 12 x 40 x 12 cm.
Un marteau est greffé à un moteur de boule à facettes et s’enroule progressivement autour du fil électrique relié à une prise. Les mouvements du marteau laissent imaginer que celui-ci cherche à s’extraire de la prise. Mais quand la force exercée devient trop grande, au bord de la rupture, le moteur change de sens et le fil se déroule. Ce processus cyclique provoque une chorégraphie solitaire. La lenteur de l’impact marque l’espace d’exposition de légers éclats qui, s’additionnant, creusent à la fois le mur et le sol.
A hammer is affixed to a mirror ball motor and gradually coils around the electric wire linked to a plug. The hammer’s movements suggest that it is trying to get away. But when the force exercised becomes too strong, on the verge of breaking, the motor changes direction and the wire unwinds. This cyclical process gives rise to a solitary choreography. The slowness of the impact marks the exhibition venue with light shards which, added together, indent both the wall and the floor.
